Mount Si High School art students now have access to six NeoLucida drawing devices.

School art students now have access to six NeoLucida drawing devices. These innovative tools enhance the art classroom by allowing students to explore a modern take on an age-old drawing technique, improving their observational skills and creativity.

Art teacher Tina Stevens-Mix, who applied for the grant, shared, “The NeoLucida grant allows students to experience history, by using a tool similar to those used by the masters. Students will be empowered in creating by using this new/old technology, and I truly appreciate the support of the SVSF.”

The grant-funded equipment has already been put to good use, with students like Jordan and Sophie, seniors at Mount Si High School, and Caitlyn, a junior at Two Rivers, exploring its capabilities. The devices enable students to project real-world images onto their paper, capturing intricate detail and improving artistic techniques.

This opportunity was made possible with funding from the Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation (SVSF) and generous donors. Visit our SVSF webpage to learn more.
